RÙA’S HOUSE MOUNTAIN HAMLET
At Rùa’s House, everything follows the philosophy of sustainable development. Although Rùa’s House mountain spans over 13 hectares, 80% of the land is preserved in its natural state, with lush, long-standing terraced rice fields and verdant tree lines encircling the area. The winding trails around the mountain are unpaved, hugging about a dozen H’Mong households who live alongside Rùa in this mountain hamlet.
Single-use plastics are kept to a minimum. Instead, locally woven bamboo baskets and shoulder carriers are used, along with ceramic bowls, chopsticks, cups, and plates, many of them sourced from Japanese pottery.
Lighting is also kept soft and minimal. During the day, natural light bathes the mountain village. As night falls, warm golden lamps gently light up the rooms and glow within bamboo tubes along the paths – guiding guests “home,” back to the simple joys of gathering, pausing the hustle, and resting in peace.
